you get this........
a burnt shed!
Yesterday morning we had a terrible storm come through in our home town. Rained like crazy, lightening struck in so many places, you would think we were having a hurricane or something. I got a phone call at 8:30 yesterday from my SIL telling me that our house & shed is on fire. What, why, how, oh my gosh, it can't be. She had me terrified! She had just pulled up at the house and the neighbors must have called 911 because the fire trucks were already there. It ended up being just my husbands shed on fire. Thank the Lord it didn't spread to our house! She said she tried calling my husband but we couldn't get an answer. I tried a million times, called his work didn't get a signal or anything. I finally got him, and he was already on his way home. You talk about someone upset, he was VERY concerned and Hiley upset. His shed was completely burned down, and if the fire department didn't show up in time, my FIL's shed would have got burnt too.
Lightening struck a tree to the right of our shed, then some how it blew out all our power both sheds & house. Every outlet was ruined, and it some how caused an explosion in his shed. It could have been worse, and our house could have easily caught on fire. I don't know what I would do if that ever had happened!
This shed was my husbands get away, he had every single tool you can think of in his shed, he had a brand new weed eider, chainsaw, air compressor, welder machine, 3 lawn mowers, tools he's saved up from 15 years ago, lots of valuable things, anytime he went outside he was at his shed, he had everything in there to build whatever he wanted to build. My husband has so many projects he does for others & himself, he could think of a million things to do with his tools. I guess you can say he can make anything you ask him too, he has a gift of talent that's for sure.
I really wanted to be there for him when this happened but because it was only the shed that got burnt, I figured I better stay at work for the mean time. But you bet, when I got home I gave him a big hug and held him for the longest!
We just thank God and our neighbors the fire didn't spread to the house.
Please keep us in your prayers, especially my husband! He has been really down about this whole thing, and he needs your prayers to lift him up!
Thanks xoxo

wow that is scary... glad there wasn't more damage
Oh my gosh, that is scary. You are so lucky it didn't reach the house though.
I know how men are with their tools, and I can imagine how upset your poor husband is :( He'll be in my prayers!
Would insurance cover any of it, or is he on his own to replace everything?
Oh my word, how awful but so glad everyone is okay though!!
So sorry about the shed. Thank God it wasn't more though!
