My SIL turned 32 yesterday & we had her a little party/get together with family.
Hunter got his Aunt Tammy a cute B-day card for her birthday...with drool :)
Sister & Brother....My all time Favorite photo of the two ♥
We ate spaghetti for her birthday, with cake & ice cream. Everything was yummy!-------
Wayne & I got a phone call last week from two different day cares. We had Hunter's name on a waiting list for a few months now, and to my surprise they had an opening. The first day care was a new one that just opened not too long ago called Toy Box. Then we had another one that was at a local church/school at St. Luke's Lutheran Church. We had little time to decide witch daycare would be best for Hunter. Toy Box called & said they had an opening that needed to be filled ASAP, the next week. I was blown away on what to do. I had an appointment with St. Luke's on Friday but it was only Tuesday & Toy Box needed an answer.
So I called and made an appointment to view both daycare's that Tuesday. I had to get off work early.
Wayne & I had already thought that Toy Box would be the one we chose because of the hours 6 -6:30. But I told Wayne we really need to visit both of them.
Thankfully the lord was with us when we decided that day!!! We looked at St. Luke's first, and I absolutely fell in love with it! There is only six children per room, they supply snacks & cook lunch, there's a schedule printed each week for what your child eats, every thing's colored coordinated for each child, they have a kitchen for lunch, a play ground, they teach your child, & has a paper filled out at the end of the day about your child & what they've done that day! The people were really friendly, completely understanding, very clean. Then we headed to Toy Box..... we met with the lady who owned the building, she told us they didn't have a hand out for us to go by until the next week (the week he would start), she took us down the halls to look into the rooms. She started explaining the room he would be in & went on to the next room, etc. The whole entire time this lady is speaking to the "Floor" she never looked at us not once! I started to ask a question about the room my son would be in & she stops me "Please let me finish talking before you ask Questions!" Excuse me!?! Ugh...this day care was already a turn off. Then she took me in the room Hunter would be in. The young worker who was watching the babies room started telling me about there daily routine. Mind you this girl is only between the ages of 18-21, (nothing against young daycare workers). She stated that there is 12 yes, 12, babies in this one room, with two workers, "uh, no", (I thought that was illegal). No lunch provided, have to bring your own, they can't go out side until there 2, (so basically they treat them like a baby). The only good thing we liked was the front door, you had to punch in your own code when you come in the building. And that was it! Wayne & I both agreed St. Luke's was SO much better. Also I know how much you love to here me complain, he,he, but the room that Hunter would be in at Toy Box was small, they had like 6 cribs in there, and a tiny space for them to play. Oh NO!!! I'm so thankful we got to view each day care!
Despise what time St. Luke's opens, at 7, we chose that day care. This is a huge move for us & our little one. We're both excited & nervous at the same time. It also gives him the opportunity to communicate with other babies & learn new & exciting things. It also gives mommy & daddy a day of rest on Friday's. (we both have Friday's off, so we can take him to daycare if we wanted to) His first day starts on August 17th. We can't wait!
If your wondering about Hunter's baby sitter, well, my SIL was thinking about going back to work once her youngest started school this year. So this will be a great opportunity to start working, & have a break from her children.
-------
Friday Hunter had a check up for his ears at his doctor. Everything went well, he's all cleared now. The nurse weighed him & he weighs 25.6 lbs now. He's a big monster.

He was into everything while we waited to see the doctor.

He was sitting on the Dr. chair------
Hunter got his first taste of mommy's bagel. :)

That pretty much sum's up my weekend!

4 sweet friend had something to say:
I'm glad you found a place that you like and are comfortable with.
Try and take a look at your blog...the layout of the page is messed up somehow. today the post about your sil's birthday is on the sidebar to begin with and then finishes underneath your when where how post. the when where how post doesn't have a place for comments either. Crazy stuff going on today :)
looks like a fun b/day party!! cute pics!
I am so very happy that you found a place for Hunter that you and him will both be happy with! I truly believe if a lady would of said that to me I would of turned around and walked out...well after I said my peace of mind.
Looks like Hunter is going to have a GREAT 1st birthday party! Try not to worry and stress over it. That is something that I always do w/ every birthday party. I'm just that way. I stress over everything, but it all works out wonderful. I love the fact that your Mother will be able to see Hunter again. Hunter is growing up so fast and is as gorgeous as always!
Oh my goodness, he is a big little man!!! I put Emersyn on our scale yesterday and she is a whoppin' 20.5lbs. :)
I would have SO freaked out if someone told me to wait until she was done talking before you asked questions. Even when I read that I was like, "oh no she didn't"!! :) I think you made a good choice, the rude lady daycare sounded awful and to be so blatantly disrespectful is a turn off. She was essentially interviewing for a job with your family, a daycare works for you as the parents and should want to make you feel good and respected!
What do you do for work? :)
