Memorial Weekend

Oh what a long weekend but not long enough....here's what we did
Friday I picked up Hunter early from daycare, I was a bit sad to leave knowing he wouldn’t return here anymore. I was surprised to see his teachers left a gift for us inside his cubby hole.. It was so sweet of them to give us this, a sweet card, two reading books, a coloring book, & crayons . We sure will miss them & thank them for all they have done.
I took Hunter to meet his new daycare afterwards, he seemed to like it even though he was a bit shy at first. Saturday Wayne & I went to my dad’s hunting club and road the four-wheeler all evening. We had lots of fun and got all muddy, love it. Sunday we went to church. After I took Hunter to the park, he seemed to have enjoyed himself, then we came home & got in his pool for the evening. Memorial day the weather wasn’t perfect but Tammy & I managed to take the kids to the beach for a couple of hours. This was Hunter’s 2nd time at the beach, he loved it so much. He didn’t mind at all if that nasty salt water got in his face either. He kept on wanting to run into the waves in the deep part. Crazy child. After the Beach we headed home and took a 3 hr nap. My baby fell asleep on my chest in our bed (which is VERY random that we do this), it felt quite pleasant. I’ll sure miss these moments. That evening we had family come over for a Mexican fieasta dinner. My brother Jamie came home from Texas for “GOOD” & he came to visit with us as well.

This morning Hunter started his new daycare. As we pulled up and waited for the doors to open I had a small talk with him telling him how he would be starting a new school and such. I asked him if he was going to be a big boy & be good, he shook his head yes & said “yes”. So sweet. He spotted the playground immediately and got excited, but I simply told him he could play out their later. He got a little fussy for a second after I told him that but was fine as we walked up to the main door.
I was so nervous for him. I was afraid he would latch onto me & cry when I dropped him off, but that didn’t happen. Instead we walked into his class room together, he met his teacher for a quick second & ran off to the rocking horse. (he had one at St. Luke’s that he loved to ride). As he was playing I was talking with his teacher about him & all the stuff I brought. As I was headed out the door he looked at me & I waved to him & told him I loved him & goodbye.. (I wanted to get out of there as quick as I could so he wouldn’t latch on) He kind of gave me a look to why I was leaving him their. :/
I called twice today and he seemed to have had a good day so far. I will post tomorrow about how his day went. I cannot wait to pick him up & here all about it.

Hope everyone has a short/good work week!

I'm glad to hear he did well when you dropped him off at the daycare. That first time can always be scary and not an easy thing to get through!!!

Ahh, your weekend looks like so much fun! I swear I need to come visit you! haha. Hunter is so sweet. I love that you had a talk with him about being nice before taking him into the daycare. I always have to "have the talk" with Charli before I drop her off, but I do this like everyday. Because, well I have a sassy four year old! haha!
